Virtual Sleep Out Fundraiser
Please join us for our first annual Virtual Sleep Out on Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 8pm to 8am!
While, COVID-19 has undoubtedly created a challenging and uncertain time for our community, Furnishing Dignity remains committed to our services. We have cancelled our Beds & Breakfast Fundraiser but YOU can still help us meet our goals to serve those recently homeless and aged-out foster youth on their path to self-sufficiency and empowerment.
Did you know that May is Sleep Better Month? Join us as we Celebrate Sleep Better Month by having fun, raising funds and bringing awareness to those sleeping under stressful conditions. Here is what it takes to join in the fun!
- A safe place to sleep (other than your bed)
- A desire to help those in need
By participating, you will be raising funds to provide our clients with essential furniture and household items. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to give our clients a better night’s sleep in 2020.
To gain a better understanding of what life is like for the hundreds of men, women and children who are sleeping on the floor, in their cars, etc. and working hard to not return to homelessness.
We are asking you to sleep out for ONE NIGHT, to bring awareness to the people who sleep in uncomfortable and often unsafe places DAILY. This will leave you a little more enlightened about what it is like to not have basic furnishings, especially a bed!
What do you mean by Sleep Out?
Sleep somewhere other than your bed – on the couch, floor, in your car, a tent, a lawn chair. Get creative and get ready to share where with us!
A $25 registration fee is required for each participant. We do encourage participants to raise $100 in donations (hint – this will bring your bed back), although no one should be deterred by that amount. Don’t have time to raise funds – how about signing up for a monthly recurring gift? $10/month will cover the $100 in donations.
This is a great activity to do as a family and while staying-in-place. Register and donate by clicking on the link below or mailing a check to:
